Tracye's obituary

Tracye DeLane Milosev passed away peacefully on the morning of March 11, 2026, following a tragic accident and a brief time in hospice care.

Born Tracye DeLane Newton on August 29, 1957, in Florida, Tracye grew up as a Navy brat, moving between bases in Pensacola and Jacksonville, Florida, and Camp LeJeune, North Carolina, alongside her brothers, Christopher and Daniel. Her lifelong love of horses began early—she was a gifted young equestrian who proudly brought home many blue ribbons. The Newton family eventually settled in Arlington, Virginia, where Tracye spent her teenage years.

Tracye later moved to Tennessee, where she met her first husband, Terry Grieves. Together they welcomed three daughters—Rikki, Jessica, and Constance. The young Grieves family moved to the San Francisco Bay Area and made their home there for many years. While she embraced the California sunshine and West Coast lifestyle, Tracye’s heart always pulled her back to Tennessee’s rolling green hills, and she returned there after raising her family.

Tracye was a devoted Christian, a proud and loving mother, and a rescuer of countless four-legged friends. She had a true gift for music and shared it generously, lending her beautiful voice to her church choir. Tracye met life with energy and heart, giving fully of herself to the people and animals she loved. Tenacious, curious, and determined, she never hesitated to speak up for what she believed in or to stand up to injustice.

Tracye is survived by her husband, Mark Wayne Reeves; her brother, Daniel John Newton; and her three daughters. She is preceded in death by her parents, William Joseph Newton and Dorothy Alice Miller-Newton, and her brother Christopher Lee Newton. To honor Tracye’s passion for animals, please consider a contribution to the Nashville Humane Association instead of flowers.
