Tracey's obituary

We mournfully announce the passing of Tracey Kershaw, a beloved woman who enriched the lives of many. Tracey was born on the 18th of September 1967, and left us all too soon on the 15th of October 2023.

A matriarch at the core, she is survived by her daughters; Tanisha, Kolorean, Katrina Kershaw-Jonez, and Elizabeth Kershaw. Tracey's legacy lives on through her grandchildren; Elizah Kershaw, Nalege Peters, Jessica Peters, James Moore, and Crystal Lee. A celebration of Tracey's life was held on the 18th of October 2023 at 9:56 PM at 5900 Allen Rd.

Tracey bravely faced the loss of her parent on January 24, 2019; dealing with the grief with strength that was a testament to her character. Professionally, she started a job at McDonald's in 2000, showing dedication and hard work. A joyous occasion came in 2022 when Tracey had a great-grandchild, a testament to the continuing strength of her family.

Her personal favorites included the delicious combination of Pork Rinds and Hot Water Cornbread, complemented by a glass of Jack Daniel’s. Tracey found solace in her favorite book, 'The 48 Laws of Power'. She enjoyed the soulful tunes of The Isley Brothers, and was an ardent fan of the TV show, 'Criminal Minds'.

Tracey admired the power of cinema, with 'The Woman King' and 'Tina Turner' being among her favorite films. She passionately supported the Detroit Lions, and relished a good game of Spades. In her free time, she liked cleaning and playing dominoes, and loved to visit the Northland Mall before it was demolished.

Tracey was a passionate supporter of the NAACP, demonstrating her care for issues of social justice. Known for her beautiful, smart, witty personality, Tracey lived by the mantra "If it ain't broke don't fix it". Her greatest accomplishments were her beloved grandchildren, and in her legacy, she became the first in her generation to create generational wealth.

With her favorite color being green, perhaps a testament to her love for life and growth, she will be dearly missed. Tracey Kershaw, we honor your life and the love you shared with those around you.
