I'm still thinking about Tomko, as I know you are Padraic.  I hope one day when the kids are old enough they can read this memory of her.  I will first and foremost remember Tomoko as an excellent mother.  She was smart and kind and thoughtful, but so tough.  When the kids would come into the clinic she always had a sense about how sick they truly were, and never let Caitlin get away with missing school or activities unless she really needed to!  She comforted them when they needed it, but wasn't afraid to challenge them.  As a clinician she was one of my favorite parents to work with, she was more conscientious and self aware than most parents and seemed to have a wisdom beyond her years.  I admired her as a parent.  I know the kids are in good hands, but I also want them to know what a great mother she was, and I hope they will have her spirit.

Dear Padraic,

I have struggled with how to reach out since learning of Tomoko’s passing. Words seem insignificant when trying to come to terms with something so incomprehensible, and yet to say nothing also seems unforgiveable. My heart aches thinking of you and your perfect family – so similar to my own. I will never forget the kindness she and you both showed while I was pregnant with Clark and after his birth. I still bathe him with the gentle soap she gave me for my baby shower, and think of her whenever I smell his sweet head. How someone so wonderful, thoughtful, caring, and needed could be taken from this world at such a young age – there is simply no way to understand it. Please know that you and Caitlin and Eileasain are in my thoughts constantly – if there is anything you ever need, please let me know. Sending all the love and strength in the world your way.

Katie Thompson
Words cannot express how heartbroken we are for your family. Tomoko was a beautiful person, both inside and out. She will be greatly missed. Love, The Lutz Family; St. Anthony's
Tomoko was someone who always made you feel at ease. She was always down to try new things and every time she walked into the room, she brought an aura of good vibes to the space she was in. You could also notice Paddy light up when she was there. She made him so happy. She is loved and will be deeply missed by the MLO family, but will continue to feel her spirit through stories, through her children, and of course through the love of her life, Paddy. We will miss her smile and her light dearly.

Tomoko had a contagious spirit that I’m sure the kiddos inherited. Can’t wait to see them grow.

Paddy, share happy times of them with the rest of us.

I have you in heart buddy!
shocked at this news is an understatement, so sorry for your loss, what happened?
