Tommy's obituary
Tommy Xavier Shaw
July 14, 1963 – February 6, 2025
Tommy Xavier Shaw, 61, passed away peacefully in his sleep on the evening of February 6, 2025, due to a heart attack. His family and friends mourn the sudden loss of a man whose love for the outdoors was only rivaled by his love for those closest to him.
Born on July 14, 1963, Tommy grew up with a deep appreciation for nature, spending much of his time fishing along quiet streams, hunting in the crisp autumn air, and enjoying the camaraderie of team sports. Whether casting a line at sunrise, tracking deer through the woods, or rallying his softball team to victory, he was happiest when surrounded by the beauty of the natural world and the companionship of good friends.
Above all, Tommy was a devoted family man. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Shaw, who stood by his side for 35 wonderful years; his two children, Brian Shaw and Breanna Shaw, who inherited his adventurous spirit and kind heart; and his siblings, Sabetha Shaw and Dexter Shaw, who shared in a lifetime of memories, laughter, and unwavering support. Tommy was a man of integrity, warmth, and strength, always willing to lend a helping hand or share a good story by the campfire.
While his presence will be deeply missed, the lessons he taught and the love he shared will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. His family finds comfort in knowing he passed as he lived—peacefully and surrounded by the life he cherished.
A celebration of Tommy’s life will be held on February 12, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Spring Hill Community Church. In honor of his love for the great outdoors, the family encourages attendees to wear flannel or their favorite sports team apparel.
Rest easy, Tommy, and may the rivers always be full and the woods forever welcoming.
