It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Tommy Dawson, who was called home on December 18, 2023. Born to Tessie Bushong and Orville Dawson on April 19, 1957, Tommy lived a life filled with warmth, adventure and an undeniable passion for his interests and loves.

In the vein of the timeless song, Tommy was a family man through and through. He leaves behind a large and loving family who treasure precious memories of him. His sons, Joshua and Tommy Dawson, will remember their dad for his caring nature and adventurous spirit. His brothers, Donald and Robert Dawson, recall their shared childhood memories with fondness, while his sisters, Joyce Allen, Betty Yount, and Barbara Burkhart, will miss their brother’s warm-hearted jokes and stories. Tommy’s legacy continues in his grandsons Alex, Ryan, Joshua Jr, Kaiden, Jacob Dawson, and his granddaughters Aaliyah, Kaytee, Willow, and Charlotte Dawson, who will always carry with them their grandfather’s lessons and love.

Tommy was predeceased by his loving wife, Charlotte Dawson, his brothers Larry, George, and Orin Dawson, and his sisters Jennie Shavenore and Patsy Ames. His parents, Tessie Bushong and Orville Dawson, welcomed him into this world and, we believe, into the next.

Tommy was a man of simple pleasures. He loved bologna sandwiches, a cold Coca-Cola, and watching episodes of his favorite show, Walker Texas Ranger. An avid sports enthusiast, he could always be found rooting for the Cardinals and Cowboys while indulging in his favorite pastime of watching baseball. When he wasn't at home, he was most likely to be found at any location where sports were being played - his favorite local spot. His personality was best described as caring, warm, and adventurous, a man who was loved by many and will be missed by all.

A celebration of life for Tommy will be held on January 5, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Gospel Center Church. All who knew and loved him are welcome to attend and honor his memory.
