Tommy's obituary

Tommy Earl Burns, 87, of Tatum TX, passed away on February 4, 2022.

Tommy was born on October 1, 1934 to Earl and Pansy Burns of Clinton, MO. After graduating from Clinton High School in 1950, he went on to join the United Stated Marine Corps.

While serving in the military he suffered a head injury where he received an Honorable Medical Discharge. In 1970, he met Georgia Bailey, and they wed in 1970, going on to have 1 child, Donna.

Tommy was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family and military service meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He was unendingly proud of Donna and Georgia and always tried his best to support them.

Tommy was also a passionate woodworker and crafter and could often be found making and building things in his workshop.

Anyone who knew Tommy knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. Tommy was predeceased by his father, mother, brother, and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, daughter, and many grandchildren.

The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to his wife, Georgia. There will be a memorial at 11:00am on 2-12-22 at the VFW Post 4002.
