Tom's obituary
Tom Singleton passed away on February 11, 2023 in Tulare, Ca. surrounded by loved ones from complications due to Parkinson's disease.
He was born in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma on October 7, 1939.
He served in the United States Marine Corp from 1958-1962, after his service he came to California where he worked as a butcher for Lee Brothers and Alpha Beta in San Jose. He went on to become co-owner of Ron's Market in Salinas. In 1987 he went into business with his brother, Clarence and opened Singleton's Market in Gilroy. In 1998 he went back to cutting meat for the UFCW Union and worked at Nob Hill and Safeway stores until his retirement in 2005.
Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing, water skiing, snow skiing, and riding dirt bikes with his sons and after retiring enjoyed golfing with friends.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Melissa Singleton, his 4 sons Bill (Kathy) Singleton of San Martin, Ca., Kelly ( Katie) Singleton of Lincoln, Ca., Jim (Brittany) Singleton of Phoenix, Az., Scott (Natalie) Singleton of Lincoln, Ca., His brother Earl Singleton of Norman, OK., his Stepdaughter Monica Bandalan of Salinas, Ca. , 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his father Clarence Singleton, mother Nora Cleveland, stepfather Lee Cleveland, brothers, Clarence and Merle Singleton, sisters Nora Mae Anno, Geraldine Huggins and his step granddaughter Kylah Savala.
Services will be held at the California Central Coast Veterans Cemetery located at 2900 Parker Flats Cut Off Rd. Seaside, Ca. on March 14, 2023 at 3:30 pm.
