Todd “Toad” Isaac Mitchell
July 7, 1970– June 22, 2025
Todd Isaac Mitchell, 54, of South Lake Tahoe, passed away on June 22, 2025. Known for his easy smile, generous spirit, and genuine warmth, Todd never knew a stranger. Whether meeting someone for the first time or reconnecting with old friends, he had a way of making people feel at home in his presence.
Most recently, Todd found joy and purpose as the owner and operator of a beloved ski shop in South Lake Tahoe, where he helped countless people prepare to enjoy the mountains he so deeply loved. His care and enthusiasm for the outdoors, his masterclass snowboarding expertise—and for others—made him a natural in the role, and a fixture in the local community.
Todd is survived by his loving wife, Tracy Mitchell; his brother, Eric Mitchell; his sister-in-law, Marci Mitchell; and his niece, Samantha Mitchell, to whom he was devoted, even across the miles. He is also lovingly remembered by his aunts, uncles, and cousins in Kansas, California, and Hong Kong, by countless friends across the country whose lives he touched with his humor, kindness, and unwavering friendship.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Linda Mitchell, whose values of compassion and connection he carried forward every day.
