Tod's obituary
Tod was born in Youngstown Ohio on February 21, 1959 to James and Helen Reese. He graduated from Youngstown State University with a degree in Economics. He worked for 33 years as an Economist for the Bureau of Labor and Statistics in Washington, DC and retired in the summer of 2017.
He has been a football official for over 40 years and has worked for the American Athletic Conference, Big East Conference, Arena Football League, the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, NFL Europe, and others. Tod has helped mentor and advocate for football officials as a clinician, a fellow on-field official, and has inspired many to achieve the highest levels of football officiating which includes some officials that work today in the NFL. Tod also officiated basketball for over 10 years as a member of IAABO Board #12 in DC and MD for High School officiating and as a member of NCAA Women's Staffs for the Capital Athletic Conference, Old Dominion Athletic Conference, Colonial Athletic Conference, Patriot League, Atlantic 10, and Big East Conference.
Tod will be forever remembered lovingly by his wife Holly, his daughter Delaney, his stepdaughter Kaitlin, his brothers Jim (Judy) and Dale (Beth), his father- and mother-in-law Colin and Muriel Halvorson, and his brothers-in law Steve (Ximena) and Daniel (Amy). Tod will also be fondly remembered forever by his cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends.
A funeral service in the tradition of the Episcopal Church in memory of Tod will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 2:00 p.m., at Grace Episcopal Church at 3601 Russell Rd, Alexandria, VA 22305. Interment will follow in the Columbarium and garden at Grace Episcopal followed by a reception at the church.
