An old memory....

Tod and I used to play this game where I'd punt the ball to him and then run down the field - the Reese side yard - to tackle him.  If I whiffed he was off to score a TD.

I was older, bigger, slower.  Tod was small, quick, clever and deceptive.

He learned this stutter step, either from his brothers or Bob Hayes.  He'd get the ball, wait for me to get close, his tongue sticking out the side of his mouth.

Then he'd start running in place, give me a head fake, and leave me tackling the air while he sped downfield.  Once in a while, I'd guess right and get him.

So many memories like that.  Tod, Jimmy, Dale, wherever you guys are, you were a wonderful influence on the kid next door, me.

Bless you.

Happy Birthday Todd. You are truly missed my brother.
Tod is always in my thoughts.  He was an amazing person and mentor besides being an amazing official!!!  Tod will always be remembered.  May Tod's memory be a source of blessing and inspiration to all who knew him!!!

I grew up next door to the Reese family - a wonderful family - and Tod was a great friend and playmate.  Lost touch with him after high school.  I will always love the memories.  My dad, who was a 25-year Ohio HS football official, would have loved knowing that Tod was so well-regarded in the craft.  My heart goes out to the Reese family.  So sorry to hear about this loss.

Every time I ride an exercise bike, I hear his voice saying, "Good job, stud."  Thanks Tod, for your everloved encouraging words.
Still think of him and the last time we had coffee at the local Pastry shop.
