Tinia's obituary
Tinia Lauryn Parker, affectionately known as “Ni Ni,”who gained her heavenly wings on June 26, 2025, at the age of 8.
Tinia was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on April 6, 2017, and from the very beginning, her life was a testimony of faith, strength, and miracles. When Tinia was just four months old, she endured a traumatic experience that doctors said she would not survive. That experience left her nonverbal and with limited mobility but it never diminished her spirit. Tinia was nothing short of a miracle.
Though she could not speak, her love and energy spoke volumes. Her smile and laugh was contagious. Her light shined brightly, filling rooms with hope, peace, and unwavering faith. All who encountered Tinia felt the presence of God through her strength and radiant soul.
Tinia moved to Texas when she was four years old where she attended Rockbrook Elementary School and Sunshine Pediatric Day Center, where she was deeply loved. She cherished time with her family and found joy in simple beautiful moments. Her favorite colors were purple and blue. She loved watching Ms. Monica, Tab Time, Karma’s World, Trolls, and spending time on TikTok with her older sister. She gave the best cuddles. Music brought her comfort. She particularly would listen to Up by Cardi B and Sundays Best by Surfaces. Tinia knew balance. Church was a place where her spirit truly came alive. One of her greatest joys was feeling the wind brush against her face, a reminder of freedom and God’s presence surrounding her.
Tinia leaves behind her devoted and loving parents, Tinisha and Austin Greene; her beloved siblings her older sister Tinirah Parker, her younger brother Amirus Greene, and her younger sister Analiyah Greene along with extended family, friends, therapists, nurses, teachers, and all who were blessed to love her.
Tinia was preceded in death by her aunt Tiniqua McGee, grandmothers Shirley Burton, Charita Burton, Willie Mae Thomas, her grandfather Darrell West and friend Santrell Moore.
While Tinia’s time on earth was far too short, her purpose was mighty. Her life was a living testimony that miracles exist, love speaks without words, and God’s promises never fail. We take comfort in knowing that Tinia is now whole, healed, dancing and rejoicing in God’s presence.
Her love will forever live on in our hearts and she will never be forgotten. Forever Tinia Strong.
“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
