Tina's obituary
Tina Furtek passed away on August 13th. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. Tina immigrated here from Poland as a young adult with her parents. She met her husband in 1964 and married in 1969. They settled in the Juniata Park section of Philadelphia and built their family. First came Lydia and then Andrea.
Tina enjoyed cooking. She loved to feed everyone and always cooked meals for her daughters even after they were married. Her stuffed cabbage (Gołąbki) was her most requested dish. She would make it for all family gatherings, her co-workers, doctor’s offices and the priests at church. Tina never forgot a birthday and would put her signature happy face drawing in all of her card. She had the kindest heart. It was a blessing to have known her.
Tina was a devoted member of the Catholic Church. She would pray the rosary daily, attend mass on Saturday, and all Holy Days. Her family was her life. She would do anything for anyone. Tina was best friends with her mother and was devastated when she passed away suddenly in 2011. Five years later she suffered her first stoke, and then after her second stroke she was never the same.
She is sadly missed by her husband Stanley and her daughters Lydia (Chris) Berry and Andrea (Jeffrey) Schork. Also, her six grandchildren, Emily, Natalie, Christopher, Alexandrea, Jeffrey, and Alison.
