Timothy's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Timothy Joe Olsen on November 22, 2024, at the age of 61, due to heart complications. Tim was a boisterous and beloved figure in the Newport Beach community, and his vibrant personality and unmistakable laughter will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Tim was born on April 4, 1963, in Vallejo, California. According to his mother, he was a beautiful and perfectly formed baby, admired by doctors and nurses alike. As a child, Tim had a spirit of adventure, often getting into and out of trouble with his brother, Joe. His love for God was apparent from an early age, and he would walk to church on Sunday mornings. Tim spent part of his childhood in Virginia, where he developed a passion for snow sledding and joined the Boy Scouts. He also played Little League and enjoyed the outdoors.
Tim attended Villa Park High School in Orange County, where he excelled in football and wrestling. After high school, Tim pursued his passion for technology and earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences from the Computer Learning Center, graduating at the top of his class. His career in Healthcare IT began in the early 1980s with QSI, where he quickly made a name for himself as an intelligent and dynamic individual. His work in automating insurance claims saved his company significant costs and helped propel his career. Throughout his career, Tim worked with numerous companies, including Hoag Memorial Hospital, Pacific Dental Services, and continued consulting with QSI software. His legacy includes significant advancements in healthcare automation.
Beyond his professional achievements, Tim was known for his love of sports, particularly his passion for the Los Angeles Chargers. He cherished attending games at SoFi Stadium and proudly held season tickets. Tim also enjoyed playing softball, golf and bowling with his colleagues and loved spending time at the beach, surfing, and enjoying the outdoors. He had a special place in his heart for his dogs, Lucky and Amanda, and was a big fan of poker.
One of Tim’s happiest recent memories was a visit to Oregon with his brother to spend time with their mom and stepdad.
Tim is survived by his mother, Patricia; stepfather, Ken; brother, Joe; wife, Adriana; and many friends and family members who will miss him dearly.
A public memorial will be held in his honor at SeaBreeze Church on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.
Tim’s larger-than-life presence will always be remembered, and his laughter and love for life will remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
