Timothy's obituary
Timothy Hart, beloved son, husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on November 7, 2024, at the age of 67 after a courageous three-year battle with cancer. Born in Ottawa in 1957, Tim moved to Los Angeles in 1982, where he lived until his passing.
Tim is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; his children, Jackson and Georgia; his mother, Dolores; and his brother, Patrick, (Rosemary Crane). He was a devoted uncle to Grace, Charles, and Caroline and loved his many cousins dearly. He is predeceased by his father, Albert (1997), and his brother, David (2021).
Tim was an accomplished scholar, earning a doctorate in kinesiology from UCLA after attending the University of Ottawa and Northern Illinois University. His professional career spanned many notable achievements, including working with the US Olympic team during the 1984 Summer Games and serving as Chief Technology Officer at Mattel, where he worked his way up through the ranks. Tim's leadership continued at Ventura Foods, where he spent the final nine years of his career as Vice President of IT.
After retiring, Tim embraced a new role as "Chief Gardener and Home Project Manager"—a title that brought him great joy as he dedicated himself to his garden, trips to Home Depot (and their hotdog cart), and other personal projects. His quick wit, humor, and wisdom will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Tim’s family finds comfort in the lessons he imparted throughout his life, and they are grateful for the love, guidance, and unwavering support he gave them. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his loved ones and in the lives of all those he touched.
