We lost a great man and a great artist. Tim was greatly respected not just for what he created but who he was. Always willing to share his knowledge and lend a hand and his word truly was his bond. He will be missed deeply. I'm honored that the photo I shot of Tim in Montana is used to remember him by. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say he will be remembered for generations. Thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends.

So sorry for your loss. Tim was an amazing chraftsman. Tim was always a gentleman, coach, and mentor to all that knew him in the knife world. His smile at the knife shows will be missed. Praying
One of the great men of the knifemaking clan . His skills and memory will
Be pass through many’s students and hundreds who knew him personally. We all
Have benefited from having this great man touch our lives . Steve schwarzer and Lora Schwarzer
I had been making knives a long time when I met Tim in the90’s at the Solvang knife show, his work for a fairly new maker and bladesmith impressed me a lot, his great workmanship and easy quiet manner won me over immediately, as it would with makers and customers thru the years. The very example of good guy, good friend and great knifemaker.
We talked about another neighbor who due his life stage, was now driving his car & motorcycle with handicapped plates. Hancock’s humor, still very much intact, a sparkle in his eye, his mouth with a soft mischievous smile, responded, “Yeah, I need to get one of those handicapped plates, for the back of my mule!” We exploded with laugher, knowing this humor was layered in the realization, that we are ever faced with needing to let go, letting go of things we love, often before we are even ready to do so. Hancock’s sweet humor never tarnished. We are grateful for our time with him, this funny & smart cowboy, his memory forever embedded in our souls. 🤠 💕
Tim was the epitome of the cowboy spirit. Now sorely missed on earth by many. I am blessed to have known him.
