I am already missing Uncle Marty's big smile and even bigger heart. I had the pleasure of living with Uncle Marty, among other family members, for about a year. I cherish that time as I was able to get to know him better and see how genuine of a person he is. I truly enjoyed chatting with him about topics such as food and travel, and even topics of deeper challenges of the world. He was the type of person you could talk to about any and everything. Looking back on our times spent chatting, I am very grateful as I always felt heard by Uncle Marty and also appreciated his open minded and wholesome perspectives. Love you, Uncle Marty. You will never be forgotten.

Uncle Marty and I were both in the restaurant industry. I remember when I moved back to California and needed a job, without a question Uncle Marty offered me a position at his work at the time! I always looked forward to chatting with him about life and work. He will be truly be missed! ❤️🙏

I was so very glad that I was able to attend Marty’s East Coast Celebration of Life and that LynNae gave me the honor of asking me if I’d read a poem. I was particularly moved by the heartfelt memories of Marty’s warmth and kindness (and shenanigans sometimes). I am now back in Boston, and tomorrow will be returning to San Francisco. I look forward to the West Coast Celebration of Life next month. Marty was loved equally as much there. May Marty rest in power and peace.

P.S. We’ll make sure to invite Josiah and Levy to all of our Fam-Jams and holiday and other celebrations, Marty. Don’t you worry!
What I remember about Marty was a wonderfully huge smile to match his kind soul. I remember an unkind teacher in sixth grade speaking to him and I watched as he seemed to let it barely phase him (as I was boiling with anger inside). I met him again in college and again saw that smile that matched his boundless spirit.. one too good for this world. I send my condolences to his family. I'm sure he will surround you with his love and positive energy.
Dear Marty,
You were a loving happy human with the kindest soul. You saw the best in everyone. We had so many laughs in Dewey Beach DE back in the day. Thank you for reaching out to me last year to give me your support in my time of need and it was wonderful to reconnect. May peace follow your wonderful heart and soul. Watch over us with your wise guidance.
Xoxo
Marty felt like part of our family from the moment he walked through our door with TJ. We and he lived in Delaware then. Even as a high schooler he’d volunteer to cook for whoever was home.He was fun and funny and very generous with his time and culinary talents. That continued after we all migrated to Ca. I remember picnics in various parks where Marty would be the barbecue chef. Most impressive was the beautifully decorated birthday cake he produced for my Mother-in-law’s 100th birthday party! He will always occupy a special place in the heart of the Angell family. Godspeed beloved friend.
We are so very sorry to hear of Marty’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of his family and friends.
With all our love
