Timoteo “Tim” Mendez Torres, a resident of Lockhart, TX, passed away peacefully at the age of 83, Saturday the 16th of May at Ascension Seton Hays, surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Timoteo was Born in 1936 in Cuero, TX to Silbestre Torres & Luciana Landin. Tim prided himself in his career as a skilled carpenter. He had a green thumb and a talent for being able to make anything grow. Tim wasn’t happy unless he was gardening, or with a hammer in his hand but what he loved most was spending time with his family. He had a playful sense of humor and loved to play tricks on people to draw laughter..

Tim is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Jesse and Mary Alice Torres of Victoria Tx. He is also survived by his children Rocky & Richard Torres of Lytton Springs, Tx. and Amy Uballe, Timothy, Valene, and Nicholaus Torres, all of Austin, TX. Tim also has 23 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and one on the way. Tim had a knack for assigning nicknames to all the grandkids, some that only he understood, but to them, he will always be remembered as Popo.

A memorial service in honor of Timoteo will be held on Saturday May 23rd at McCurdy Funeral Home in Lockhart, TX with viewing scheduled from 9:00am-12:00pm, followed by the Holy Rosary at noon and burial to follow immediately after at Guadalupe Cemetery in Mendoza, TX.
