I had the pleasure of meeting Tim at an Optum meeting many years ago, and he quickly became my “call a friend” when it seemed nobody within the organization could assist. No matter how busy he was, he always made time to help! He was an amazing guy and the few times we crossed paths during business travel, I had the privilege of sharing a few drinks with him waiting for a flight. He always talked so fondly and proud about his family. The world lost a great man way too soon! Rest with God my friend! My thoughts and prayers are with your wife, children and family during this difficult time.

I had the honor, privilege and very good fortune to have Tim as a member of my team in the past as a leader here at OptumRx. He was the consummate teammate, always willing to step up in support of the greater good; always hard working, yet good-natured and compassionate in his approach. He and I shared a special bond in our love for all things Boston-sports related, especially our Patriots. My deepest condolences to the McCarroll family on this tragic and unexpected loss. I have had the privilege of working closely with Tim for several years and am heartbroken at the news of his passing. Tim has always been the guy you want to have on the call, not just because he was a great colleague, but he was a bright spot, always showing kindness and reaching across the aisle to find a way to collaborate. Most of the things I brought his way were challenges and he was always onboard with solutioning and making the hard situations seems lighter. His impact will continue to be felt in our organization and the lives of us that were given the gift of working with him.

Tim was one of my son Dan’s best friends on earth! They met when they were four or five years old and have never parted except for distance. We still live in Massachusetts where my son, Danny Delaney, Derek Kasperowski, snd Tim McCarroll grew up. They were incredible friends from the start. I recall hearing a knock on the screen door and looking down to see his precious dark brown eyes looking up at me and saying, “I live closer to you now.” Tim’s wonderful family had moved two or three streets away. The “posse” had officially been formed!! Dan, Tim, and Derek have never parted, and they never will. It became one of the most beautiful friendships that I have ever known. They grew up together on soccer fields all over the area and beyond. Their very zealous coach, Bob Harrington, had them on bus trips as far away as a tournaments in Washington, D.C. and beyond. He and the team were wonderful soccer players, but the real fun took place on the busses and in motel hallways!
As they grew older, their “posse “of three grew to a phenomenal group of 10-12 great high school kids, many of whom I had in my English classes … together!! (That wasn’t easy!!) All of these years later, they continue to be an outstanding “crew” of young men, who have stuck together and who are now deeply mourning their very humorous, wonderful, and occasionally “impish”friend. My husband Bruce and I offer our most sincere sympathy to Tim’s wife and children and to his beautiful mom, dad and brother. Be safe my sweet Tim - we love you. Noreen Delaney Hildreth

Tim supported many work projects where I needed his expertise and deep knowledge to support complex client implementations. I probably drove him crazy at times with all my questions, but he was ALWAYS supportive and would find the answers we needed. His sense of humor was much appreciated and always diffused a tense situation. I'm better at what I do every day because of what I learned from Tim. I am so saddened and shocked to hear of his passing, and I'm so sorry for the deep impact this will have on his family and friends. His loss will be deeply felt by everyone whose lives he has touched.

I worked with Tim at Arthur Andersen. He was incredibly smart and had an amazing sense of humor. He always made work fun and I could count on him to do incredible work. We nicknamed him "McCracken" because of all of his stories and his periodic "rage" about a challenging client or his commute or his stay at the Sheraton in Needham. I am saddened to hear of his passing and am thinking about his family during this very difficult time
