My condolences to Tom's family. I can't pinpoint exactly how I met Tom but when I do I will rewrite this.

My fondest memory I knew he could paint, so I asked him if he would paint my motorcycle tank I purchased on ebay. I had to replace my other tank because of an accident on oak creek road.  I hit a cow and did extensive damage to my tank.  He also did my helmet. He was great at it. They were perfect. He knew I had little money and did then for a great price.  I liked him immediately when I met him.

I know he is missed!

Hello to Tom’s Family just found out about his passing. Haven’t been by his Shop in Two years, just went by today to see him. He and his Shop workers finished my 1968 Chevy SS Convertable .SOORY to hear of your loss. Such A Great Person Tom Was he will be missed by the Tehacahapi Committee 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Tommy: You will always be missed. You are a true friend. Your total restoration work on my 57 E-Bird took her from scrap to Best of Show at the 2015 Thunder on the Mountain Car Show. She then attended her first Concours in San Diego with you in attendance of course. She took a Gold award, missing top honors, a Gold Medallion, by 1/2 point.  Her next Concours showing was in Flagstaff at the 2019 Concours. Of course, Tom drove in from California. She won her Gold Medallion. The Baby Bird now graces the car museum at the Riverside in Laughlin.  I know you and I will meet again. May you be in God's hands.
I worked for Tom as secretary and enjoyed every minute of it. He was fun to work with, always caring and made me laugh continually. He loved working on cars! I miss him, last saw him downtown at his booth for a street fair. Great bunch of guys at youngblood customs!

I first met Tom at a Tehachapi Car Club Cruise-In in 2009 while searching for a place to retire, and again in early 2010 following my move here in Tehachapi.  He was recommended for the repaint needed on my 57 Chevy. We discussed the work, agreed on a price as I was to help with the strip & finish work following his application of paint. I at that time was in the process of a barn build as my horse was still in Santa Clarita and needed to be moved.

Needless to say, I wasn't much help in the stripping process as winter was on its way and the barn build needed to be completed. He cut me slack and I completed the barn and moved the horse. I then got back to work with Tom in his garage on the project. He was a hard-working guy that didn't take many breaks. He showed me many tricks of the trade, as I was responsible for the first application of paint placed on this car prior. We became friends during this time as I really enjoyed working with him and discussing all kinds of topics. He had surfboards he had painted murals on and converted to furniture and the stories that went along with those projects were all works of art, as the guy was really talented.

I was lucky enough to follow Tom in his business adventure, in the car custom field he chose, and will always remember him fondly as he was a real friend, I miss you, buddy!

Brother You’ve Just Walked On Ahead

And I’ve got to understand

You must release the ones you love

And let go of their hand.

I try and cope the best I can

But I’m missing you so much

If I could only see you

And once more hear your voice

Yes, you’ve just walked on ahead of me
