My deepest and most sincere condolences . My heart is broken with yours, though I never met you Carla. And Ali I barely knew as a little boy in Philadelphia.
Tom was a member of our Sufi Fellowship here in Philly ( the Bawa Muhaiyadeen Fellowship and was always taping discourses on a cassette player in the 70s and early 80’s earning him the nicname Taping Tom by fellow members and our teacher Bawa.
Lately for a couple years I reconnected with Tom on a mutual friends Facebook page and since then we played online scrabble . I noticed he hadn’t moved in 6 days, and assumed he was on vacation, Then on Wed night opened Facebook to be stunned to read Carla speaking from his page with this terrible and shocking news .
Everything Carla says is true and Tom was always that way to my knowledge. . A kind, generous , caring man with a heart of gold. He was quiet and didn’t waste time on idle chat , we just played, which is why I never knew he was on vacation. I’m still struggling to make sense of his passing ,
Only God knows and we will join him soon in Gods time
Rest in Power and Peace my friend and brother.

One of the kindest and coolest dad's I've ever known. He was supportive and loving. He loved life and was very passionate about it, especially his family and friends. He helped create and nurture one of the coolest friends that I've ever had and he will be greatly missed

What are our memories of Tom? A kind face. A soft spoken manner with a very quick wit. A shared love of music. His willingness to always lend a hand and most importantly, the love and support he gave to Carla and the kids. Gone far too soon but always in our hearts. We will miss him. Rest In Peace.

I have many fond memories of Tom in our early years. He and I attended Central High School together where I first experienced his unique sense of humor. Tom, Phil and I had a small band that played mostly the Doors and Jefferson Airplane music every weekend with our Lawnton Avenue friends Andi Gever, Marianne Sena and her sisters. Tom always had a comment that would make us smile. He will be missed by all that knew him. RIP my friend.
