Thomas Watkins, of Tacoma, WA passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at the age of 64.

Tom was born to parents Andrew Gilbert and Rose Ann Watkins in Cleveland, OH, on March 10, 1955. He grew up the 4th of 7 children and graduated from Lakewood High School in 1973.

Tom married his high school sweetheart, Candace Allyn (née Newcomb) and remained married for 38 years. The couple moved to the Pacific Northwest to start a new chapter in 1978. Tom enjoyed a career in the Seattle’s booming construction industry as a carpenter, small business owner (Sound Surfaces), and later as a construction supervisor. He loved boating and fishing, playing guitar, craft beer, colorful jokes, and his beloved Seattle Seahawks.

Tom is survived by his sons, Daniel and Devin, daughter Emma, grandchildren Liam and Indigo, and siblings William, John, Patricia, Kathleen, and James. His death is preceded by his parents and brother Daniel. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Tacoma Rescue Mission. The family is grateful for the condolences and will be hosting a Celebration of Life at Billy McHale’s in Federal Way, WA on Saturday, December 7, 11:30AM-2PM.
