Tom passed away on Friday, June 25, 2021 due to complications related to Leukemia (ALL). Born Feb. 2, 1955 into a loving and hardworking Dutch family of Webster, NY, Tom was predeceased by his parents John and Lucille VanHall. He is survived by his rock, his soulmate, his wife, Cherilyn who was unwaveringly always by his side: daughter, Kaitlin (Shaan) Mathur of Seattle, WA; son, Patrick (Jenna Loomer) VanHall of Los Angeles, CA; step-son, Craig (Renee) Lepiane of West Irondequoit; sister, Joyce (Keith) Sealover of Mechanicsburg, PA.

A graduate of St. John Fisher College, he worked at Eastman Kodak, M&T Bank, Ciminelli Real Estate and First Niagara Bank as Project Manager.Tom spent numerous hours coaching and assisting area youths in lacrosse; a sport that he played and coached with everything he had. Whether it be through his work or his love of lacrosse, he was well known around the Rochester area and he was loved by all.

The simplest things brought him the greatest joys; lacrosse, country music, dogs and watching his grandchildren, Sloan, Maeve and Kieran Mathur and Chase, Olivia and Liam Lepiane. Known as a jack of all trades, he took on every home improvement project or knew just the guy to collaborate with. He will make sure his grandkids all get a stick in their hands and play their hearts out for their biggest fan. Dad, your stories will be told, your legacy will be carried on, you are loved and missed.

I was just trying to leave something behind”
