Tom and Katie we are so sorry for your loss. You are like family and our immediate family on Darlene's side has lost two young sons as well. He lived so close in Palatine from us and we are frequent visitors to the Willowbrook Wildlife Center, a wonderful place to rehab injured animals.

We are all so very saddened to hear about Tommy. He was such an important and beautiful person. We really loved him and had so many wonderful times whenever he visited us with Dylan after we had first moved to Chicago. He meant a great deal to all of us and had a real heartfelt way of making people feel close to him. Tommy was the little brother I never had. I have so many memories of me, audre, Tommy, and chrissy together, building forts, eating cookies, painting Tommy's finger nails (sorry bud!), roller blading in trempers parking lot... so many memories to even list. Tommy had a lasting impact on me, and even though I haven't talked to him in many years, I never forgot about him. Tommy was so deeply loved, and I'm so sorry for everyone grieving the loss of such a wonderful soul.

I can't begin to express how much I cared about Tommy and how much I wish I could have known him even better. I first started talking to him when I was fifteen and he was fourteen, and met dozens and dozens of others through him. He was always a helping hand when I needed him, and I'll miss him so so much. Tommy and I were in the same circle of friends for many years, but had never really gotten to know each other. In December of 2016 (?) we were at a con together, and ended up chilling in the same hotel room. Somehow, the subject of punk music came up, and a friendship budded immediately. Despite the craziness of a con, we sat in a hotel room and talked for hours about everything...and nothing. It was the perfect start to a friendship.
Since that time, every time I'd run into him, I'd be greeted with a smile and a hug, and occasionally a random song quote.
Tommy was gentle and so full of love. My heart aches.
