Tommy's obituary
Thomas Strawn, 58, passed away on April 15, 2025, in Beaverton, Oregon. Born on August 20, 1966, in Corvallis, Oregon, Thomas—known affectionately as Tommy to many—lived a life marked by love, laughter, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors.
Tommy was a devoted husband to his wife Wendi and a proud father to his children Danielle and Deavon. His heart found its greatest joy in his granddaughter Maddison, who was truly the light of his life. He also shared a special bond with foster baby Jocelyn, whose presence brought additional warmth to his home.
Family meant everything to Tommy. He is remembered fondly by his siblings Jerry, Donna, Becky (along with her husband John), Charles (along with wife Stacey) and Deanna, as well as sisters-in-law Kristie Hester (with her husband James) and Sheri Miller (with her husband Matt). His extended family includes numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and other loved ones who were touched by his loving spirit.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Vicky and Chuck; his sisters Wendy and Sandy; and his beloved mother-in-law—Linda who, in Tommy’s own words, “loved him more.”
An avid lover of the outdoors, Tommy found peace and happiness in nature. Whether it was casting a line into a quiet stream or simply enjoying the fresh air, he embraced outdoor activities of all kinds—with fishing holding a special place in his heart.
Known for being loving, caring, and funny, Tommy had an unmistakable presence that brought joy to those around him. His sense of humor could brighten any room, and his kindness left lasting impressions on everyone he met.
A celebration of Tommy’s life will be held in July 2025. With further details to come.
