Thomas's obituary
In Loving Memory of Thomas Stipcak
June 17, 1966 – June 9, 2025
Thomas Stipcak, the embodiment of happiness and humor, passed away on June 9th at the age of 58 in Livonia, Michigan. Born on June 17, 1966, to proud parents Anthony and Dellor Stipcak, Tom lived a life rich with laughter, music, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends.
Tom was a beloved brother to Nancy, Tony, and Cindy, and a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews. His kindness, quick wit, and boundless sense of humor brought light to every gathering and joy to those around him.
Above all, Tom was a proud and loving father to his sons: Tyler Anthony, Joseph Henry, and Damian Thomas. His happiness was never more evident than when he was with them—cheering them on, relaxing by the pool, offering a helping hand, or sharing a fiercely competitive round of putt-putt golf, one of his favorite pastimes. Those moments were always accompanied by a soundtrack of Bob Seger, Billy Joel, Neil Diamond, and Van Morrison.
He was also the proudest dog dad to Gator, the pup with a scrunched-up smile and a unique talent for drinking from the kitchen faucet.
Tom’s passions were many—rooting for Detroit’s sports teams, solving his family’s endless automotive puzzles, enjoying a glass of Captain Morgan, quoting classic movies, and delivering the occasional (and often legendary) dad joke. Whether fixing a car, a vacuum, a fridge, or a garage door, Tom was always the go-to guy. He brought not just tools, but laughter, a Jack Nicholson grin, and a corny joke to lighten the moment.
Tom also had a flair for cooking, and nothing brought him more joy than sharing a good meal with those he loved. His signature dish was potato soup—a family favorite that earned rave reviews, especially from his son Damian. Whether he was behind the grill or stirring a pot on the stove, Tom cooked with the same love and humor he brought to every part of his life.
Tom was a friend to everyone he met and a helper in every sense of the word. His legacy of laughter, generosity, and love will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing him. His presence was truly a gift—and he will be deeply, dearly missed.
