Thomas' enduring spirit and exceptional personality touched the hearts of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. His legacy will forever resonate with those who were fortunate enough to have been a part of his life. Thomas was born and raised in Gardner, MA. He graduated from Brown University and then pursued a career focused on computer technology. In his younger years, he was an avid fisherman as well as a talented golfer. Thomas was a master pianist and guitar player who always enjoyed entertaining family and friends. He would surprise listeners by expertly playing the ‘Flight of the Bumble Bee’ on piano or by singing the songs of everyone from Elvis to Hank Williams while playing guitar.
Thomas is survived by his loving wife, Helen Johnson. The two were longtime residents of Natick, MA. During their time together, they created a family that was a testament to their unwavering love and commitment to each other. Their bond and shared life ideals are the foundation upon which their children, Rebecca Johnson, Lisa Agrella, Michael Johnson and wife Carla Johns, and Matthew Johnson, continue to grow and thrive. Thomas is also survived by his grandchildren, Lindsey Hassan and husband Alavee Hassan, Philippa Johnson, Savannah Johnson, Emma-Rose Chappell, and Colton Johnson.
One of the most admirable qualities about Thomas was his ability to share profound wisdom and teach life-changing lessons in the simplest of ways. He was always helping everyone around him - from assisting with writing newsletters with Helen, school papers and speeches with his children and friends, to being the neighbor always ready to jump in and help. His smile lit up every room and you could not help but to acknowledge his caring nature and ability to make everyone feel welcomed and comfortable. Thomas’s incredible giving spirit is sure to continue to inspire and guide his family and friends in their journeys.
In life and now in death, Thomas remains an embodiment of love, kindness, and selflessness. His life’s journey may be over, but his spirit lives on in those he touched and loved. May his soul rest in peace.
