Thomas Patrick Nilles, 70, of Culver Oregon passed away on October 20th, 2021.

Tom, born on August 18th, 1951 to Robert and Joyce Nilles in Glendale, Illinois, immediately brought a curiosity about nature to the world. Tom enjoyed exploring nature around the Midwest as a Boy Scout, eventually earning the rank of Eagle Scout. Tom went on to graduate from Lake Forest High School in 1970. After graduating from high school, Tom went on to pursue a degree in Plant Science at Southern Illinois University Carbondale and then later University Of Utah. Tom fell in love with plants, which kicked off a many years working in the field.

In high school, he met Virginia (Ginny) Nilles and the two enjoyed a love of hiking and skiing together for many years. Tom and Ginny were married for over 20 years and had 2 children, Bonnie and Brian. Tom was predeceased by Ginny, his brother Bob, and his parents. He is survived by Bonnie, Brian, and his sisters Cammie and Barrie. Services will be announced at a later date.
