Background
Syd has always had a fondness for dogs! His first dog, Beauty, stole his heart and provided many stories for years. Star, in Ohio, was one of his favorites; she would run from 4 houses away when Syd whistled and run alongside Syd when he went on bike rides (he would often have to stop and ask strangers to use their hose to give poor Star a drink). Ziggy was another one of our dogs that loved racing dad down the street when we returned from church every Sunday. He delighted in his grand-dogs and loved hearing about their exploits at the dog park. In his final months he delighted in watching animal videos.
