Tommy, I was honored to read scripture at your memorial service. Darrell and I were blessed to know you. Your heart always had wings, Tommy. You loved with all your being and had to grieve far too often. But now you live, love, and are fully loved as you’ve always deserved! We continue to celebrate your authenticity and send our love and prayers heavenward to reach you!

My deepest sympathies to Tommy’s friends and family during this time of loss. I was fortunate to be able to visit with Tommy several times at the hospital, hoping to break up the monotony of pokes, prods, sponges and whatever else he’d have to endure.
This is music that I brought along for our last visit to spark his curiosity. Composed by Thomas Tallis in the 16th century, “Spem in alium” is a motet for 8 choirs of 40 voices that proclaim "I have never put my hope in any other but in Thee, God of Israel.”
It seemed to me a fitting prayer through music during his difficult journey. I never did get to play it for him but share it here for those who’d like to have a listen.
