Today would be my dad’s 86th birthday.  Lost him this January and today was a bit hard. Here are a couple of pictures from the last few birthdays he had (the last two years. I got him FIRST a sheet cake to share with everyone in the dining hall and then the next few cupcakes.). I tried to cupcake. It was delicious.

Happy birthday, DAD. Slainte!!!

I was so sorry to hear about Dr. Leach’s passing. I was a student of his in 1980 at UNCP.  He was such a kind and caring person, very down-to-earth with not one shred of ego. My thoughts are with his family.

Tom was a great friend of mine in High School and we have been talking over the years. He and I were both members of a swimming medley relay team that established a H.S. National Record which we held for two years. We both were All Americans in our junior and senior years.  His life is full of major accomplishments. I do a little with music and guitar. He said he tried but was not able to learn guitar. I do have songs on U-tube.  You might like Truth Has Gone Astray by Charles Derrick one of his best friends.

Mike and I miss Tom’s infectious laugh, his warmth and humor, and his companionship.   We had so many good times together over the 45 years we knew him.  Rest in peace, Tom.
