Thomas Fredric Lauer, age 56 of Hugo, MN, won his battle with cancer on May 23, 2023.

He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family.

Tom grew up on the east side of St. Paul with his six older siblings and loving parents. He was surrounded by numerous loving others that all had a hand in raising him into the man he was. His strong catholic faith began at a young age and carried him through his life. He had the honor of being named the godfather to many nieces and nephews with whom he had a special bond with.

Tom met Jackie in the summer of 1988 at a BBQ. Their love for each grew over the years and they wed in September of 1990. They went on to raise three beautiful daughters in Hugo, MN. His hard work and perseverance was showcased in his 30 years spent working at Pepsi.

Tom filled many people’s lives with joy and happiness as many others did for him. His love for sports was intensified as he watched his three daughters play and his dedication and love to them showed with each game. Tom loved his sports but what he loved more was to spend his free time at the cabin in Remer, MN. He felt most at peace sitting at the bonfire listening to the radio and counting the stars with his family. He taught his daughters the purpose of life up there and cherished every weekend spent in the woods with his wife.

Tom is survived by his wife of 32 years, Jackie (Beumer) Lauer; daughters, Kelsey (Ben) Leibel, Samantha (Thomas) Polkoski and Rachel (Randy) Lauer; grandchildren, Jack Leibel and Raegan Polkoski; siblings, Cindy (Jeff) Langewisch, Mary Lauer-Aulwes, Jim Lauer and Sandy Lauer-Lukas; and many godchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents Tom and Isabelle Lauer and his brothers Mark and Karl Lauer.

Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday June 17th at Saint John the Baptist Church, 14383 Forest Blvd N, Hugo, MN 55038 with visitation one hour prior. Reception to follow mass at the Hugo American Legion. Food will be served 1-3 PM and social hour 1-5 PM.
