Jim's obituary
Thomas James "Jim" Bourg Jr., 80, of Lighthouse Point, Florida, passed away on March 21, 2024. Born on November 1, 1943 in Joliet, Illinois, Jim was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and mentor to many.
After graduating from Pompano Beach High School, Jim embarked on a successful career in the manufacturing industry. He was the proud owner of Wire Products Inc. of Fla. in Ft. Lauderdale for over 50 years. The business continues to thrive today, a testament to Jim's hard work and dedication.
Jim was a devoted family man who shared many adventures navigating the waters of Florida, the Bahamas, and other locales. An enthusiast of many sports, skin and scuba diving that he enjoyed from his early teens and was a passion that stayed with him his whole life. He had enjoyed all boating and competitive sailboat racing with many racing successes in So. Florida. Known for his insightful nature and keen wit, Jim was loyal to his family and friends.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Sue of 63 years, son Jeff, daughter Ann (Reber), grandchildren Andrew ( deceased ), Matt, Heather, Bowen, Tagish, and great-grandchildren, Bronson and Waylon as well as his brother Dave, sister-in-law Nancy, and several nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Margaret Bourg, who were the foundation from which he drew his strength.
Jim will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and friends, and his impact will be remembered for years to come.
