In Loving Memory of Thomas Harold Hebert
09/06/1940 – 02/16/2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Thomas Hebert (A-Bear), a brilliant inventor, devoted man of God, loving husband, father, and grandfather, nature enthusiast, and passionate cajun cook. He left this world on February 16th 2025 with his family beside him, but his legacy of faith, creativity, and generous love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Tom possessed an extraordinary mind, always seeking to innovate and create. His inventive and entrepreneurial spirit led to remarkable achievements and numerous patents in the energy & efficiency field, but his greatest work was the life he built with his family and the love he shared with every friend and stranger. He saw God’s hand in all things, from the intricate designs of his inventions to the elaborate flavors of food, and in the beauty of nature that he so deeply cherished. Whether walking through the woods, gazing at the night sky, traversing a winding river, or tending to his garden, he found peace and inspiration in God’s creation.
His faith was his foundation, guiding him in every aspect of life. A man of integrity, kindness, wisdom, and work ethic, he lived out his beliefs through love and service. His home was a place of warmth and generosity, where meals were made with love and in abundance, and everyone was welcome at his table.
He was a devoted husband to Deborah Hebert a loving father to Tina Fujita (Bart), John Hebert, Heather Forrey (Rob), Chad Wade (Terolyn), Brian Hebert, Kyle Hebert, and Sarah Harrison (Trip) and a proud grandfather (PawPaw) to Robin Forrey, Zachary Forrey, Ivagene Forrey, Madison Wade, Israel Turner, Cameron Wade, Aren Fujita, Ariel Turner, and Tiana Fujita. His unwavering love, encouragement, and faith in God will forever be a guiding light for his family.
Preceded in death by his mother Sarah Waters Hebert, father Harrell Hebert, brothers Theodore Hebert and Timothy Hebert, son John Hebert, and granddaughter Ivagene Forrey.
Though we mourn his loss deeply, we find comfort in knowing he is now at peace in the presence of the Lord. A celebration of his life will be held on March 8th 2025 at First Baptist of Lutz at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the homeless ministry at First Baptist of Lutz, reflecting his lifelong values and passions.
Rest easy to our incredibly loved “ragin’ cajun”, Tom Hebert. Your faith, wisdom, delicious meals, and love will never be forgotten
