Thomas's obituary

Thomas Emery Guier, 66, passed away on January 5th, 2025 at his home in Spokane from ALS. He was cared for by his daughter Erin and son-in-law Wayne in his final months.

Thomas was born along with his twin brother Dan on February 13th, 1958 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Marlene Weigand (Allemani) and Robert Guier. His family lived in Missoula, MT, where he graduated from Sentinel High School in 1976. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1976 as an Aviation Technician and spent 27.5 years traveling the world and defending his country, as well as volunteering for the American Red Cross. He bought his first house at his last duty station, in Oak Harbor, Washington where all 3 of his children were born. After he retired in 2004, his family moved to Spokane and he worked for Costco until 2019 and volunteered at the VA as an ambassador, helping veterans get the healthcare and assistance they needed. He was loved by everyone.

Thomas is predeceased by his mother Marlene, father Robert, and sisters Ann and Anita.

He is survived by his brothers Bob (Cheria) Guier, David (Iwona) Guier, Daniel (Jodi) Guier and sister Tracy Frank; daughters Jennifer Guier, Erin (Wayne) Overby; son Jacob Guier; grandchildren Lila, Haden, and Eliana; nephews Zachary, Jeremiah, and Aigen; nieces Rien, J.P. and Ashley.

Thomas enjoyed traveling, hunting, and fishing. He loved to be surrounded by his family. He took care of his kids and loved his neighbors.

He will be forever missed, and forever in our hearts.
