Thomas Gray Jr. was born January 26, 1949 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to parents Thomas Gray Sr. and Della Gray (Swift). He also had one older sister, Perlita Brown (Gray) who he looked up to dearly. He graduated from Manual Training High School in 1967.
