Tommy's obituary
It is with a heavy heart that we bid goodbye to Thomas "Tommy" Gerhold Sr., fondly known as Tommy. Born on September 28, 1961, Tommy peacefully left us on May 29, 2024. His love for life, kindness, and compassionate soul will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Tommy is survived by an extensive and loving family. He leaves behind his sisters Debbie Davis, Bonnie Carlson, Joyce Parker, and Dawn Blevins; and his brothers James Gerhold Jr., and Joseph Mummert. His son Thomas Russel Gerhold Jr., his grandchildren Sophie Gerhold, Kimbert Collett, and Blaton Collett, and his children Angel and Andrew will forever cherish his memory. His ex-partner, Mary Sue Hyde, as well as his life long friend Keith Mason also mourns his departure.
Tommy's legacy is preceded by his mother Betty Gerhold-Mummert, his father James Charles Gerhold Sr., and his brother David Scott Gerhold. We take solace knowing that Tommy is now reunited with his loved ones who preceded him in death.
Tommy was a dedicated attendee at the Light of The Desert Lutheran Church, a place he considered his spiritual home with Pastor Paul & Pastor Bill. As a man of faith, he was often seen reading his favorite book, the Bible, and sharing his love for God with everyone he met. True to his nature, Tommy believed in helping others in any way he could and was a volunteer at his church and local food bank, often helping as a groundskeeper.
Tommy's personality was best described as loving and generous. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need, truly embodying the spirit of selflessness. He was a lover of nature and an artist who expressed his passion through painting.
His teachings and profound lessons on faith and kindness have left everyone with a legacy of a big-hearted man who lived by his principles: a legacy of kindness with a heart of gold. This legacy will continue to be cherished and remembered by all those he influenced.
Tommy was a beacon of love, compassion, and generosity. His family and friends will miss him dearly. The void left by his departure can never be filled, but the love and positive influence he had in our lives will forever remain. Rest in peace, Tommy.
