Thinh's obituary

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Thỉnh Xuân Phạm of Manchester, New Hampshire, on January 7, 2024, at the age of 86.

Born on February 16, 1937, in Kẻ Sặt, Hải Dương, Việt Nam, Thỉnh was a man of honor and courage. He proudly served in the Southern Vietnamese Army as part of their secret service, demonstrating bravery and commitment to his country. After the war, Thỉnh transitioned to civilian life and became a skilled mechanic, a trade that he pursued with passion and excellence, providing for his family and serving his community with distinction.

Thỉnh was a devout Catholic and the leader of his church’s council. His deep faith and dedication to the Catholic Church were central to his life, bringing him immense peace and purpose. He was one of the founders of the choir for the Bình An Thượng parish, contributing his time and talents to uplift the spirit of the congregation through music. Additionally, Thỉnh played a significant role on the advisory board for the rebuilding of the Bình An Thượng parish in 1992. His efforts in these endeavors were instrumental before he immigrated to the United States in 1993.

Thỉnh was also a man of many interests and talents. His love for poetry reflected his deep thoughts and contemplative nature. A true soccer enthusiast, he enjoyed watching games, sharing the excitement and spirit of the sport. He also found great pleasure in the simple ritual of drinking tea, which for him, was a time for reflection and tranquility.

Above all, Thỉnh was a devoted family man. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Mục Thị Nguyễn, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and memories. He was a loving father to his eight children, Tân, Lệ, Trinh, Tuyền, Ẩn, Trâm, Phương, and Hoài. His role as a husband, father, and grandfather was the most cherished part of his life, and his guidance and love will forever be a beacon for his family. His life was a testament to his strength and resilience.

Thỉnh Xuân Phạm will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
