Theresa Chang was born January 28, 1960 in Taipei, Taiwan. She was a nurse for most of her life, and taught at Research College of Nursing for over 10 years.

She was diagnosed with lymphoma in July 2024, and passed from complications following a lung infection on September 25, 2024, aged 64, in Kansas City, Missouri.

Theresa will be remembered by colleagues, students, friends, and family for her love of nursing, teaching, cooking, traveling, and spending time with loved ones.

She is proceeded in death by her sister and nephew, Joanne and Julian. She is survived by her husband, Ray Chang, sons Alex (Sharien) and Derrick (Kali) Chang, and her grandchild to born in January 2025.

Celebration of life is to be held at Mt. Moriah Newcomer & Freeman Memorial on October 5, 2024. Visitation will be held from 2-4pm, with a service to follow at 4pm.

Flowers are welcomed to be sent to the funeral home to commemorate her love of plants and gardening, or donations can be made in lieu of flowers to her grandchild’s scholarship and care fund to support Theresa’s love of family and education.
