Professor Chang always wished for every student's success and she strived to help every chance she got. I remember that darned nursing dosage calc exam, she sat with me after and continued showing me examples of how to get the answers I needed. She was more than just a "teacher", she's one that speaks to you as a person and would always see your potential even when you couldn't see it yourself. The halls of RCON won't be the same without her there.
Such an incredible person, so bright in all things. So dedicated to shaping students and truly cared. I am beyond grateful I had the chance to know and learn from her.
Professor Chang was truly a pure heart. Anything I needed she was always available. She always knew the right things to say to put an overthinking student like myself at ease . I remember day 1 as my advisor she told me that she would always be there even after graduation & she truly meant it. I'm thankful for all of her teachings & most important how she enforced the importance of always taking care of your patients plus others. I will always remember our talks & hear her sweet voice. My deepest condolences. May she rest in peace. 🧡

Omg professor Chang was one person that made me so comfortable during my time at RCoN! When my bp went over the roof during my AH lab exam rehearsals after we had just finished another exam , she personally followed me to the ER, carried my bag while my partner pushed my WC. She even still texted me at night to follow up and offered that I move my test from the next day but I was determined to get it done and forget about it at once. I stopped taking soda since 2022 because of her advice that day! What a great loss to humanity, her family and RCoN. Her impact would be greatly missed by all and sundry. My prayers are with her family. The world has indeed lost an icon. Rest well Teresa Chang 💔

I was deeply saddened to learn about Theresa's passing.  Theresa was a kindhearted and amazing person; her genuine altruistic nature and relentless positive energy had changed the prospects of live of those she was friend with. She will be deeply missed.
Theresa Chang was a remarkable person. I had the pleasure of working with and learning under her as a student at Research College of Nursing. She was my clinical instructor the semester that my dad died and saw me through some very dark days. She believed in and encouraged me at a time when I questioned whether I wanted to be a nurse at all. She was also the person who suggested I try the ICU. She said, "You know, I think you'd make a really good ICU nurse." This suggestion prompted me to seek out ICU shadow experiences (one of which she set up for me in RMC's ICU), which eventually led to a capstone placement and a new grad position in St. Luke's CVICU.  At graduation, she told my mom: "The next time I see Emily, she will have a "Dr." in front of her name." She was right about that, too. I graduated with my DNAP in May and am working as a CRNA now. I'll forever be grateful for her and the role she played in my nursing career. I will remember her for her kindness and her unparalleled sense of humor. What an enormous loss not only for the RCON community but also for all of those who knew and loved her.
Theresa was a heart of gold. She is the reason I strive to be the best nurse I can be (knowing she would shake her head at me if I wasn’t). Saint Luke’s, if your reading this - stop. One day when I was a tech and a nursing student, she showed me how to place IVs. In school, it’s hard to get good one on one training in a judgement free zone but she stopped her whole day and let me take my time to learn. It is such a small gesture but it meant the world to me. As I got closer to graduation, each time I worked with her she would teach me a new skill. One day, she stopped me in the hall to show me what a real world pericardial effusion sounded like. She loved nursing. I believe she loved to help and see others succeed more no matter if it was her patient, her college, or friends & family. Her selflessness was admirable. I remember the day she shared her homemade dumplings with me (she knows I loved food and her cooking). I forgot my lunch that day and she gave me all of them claiming she had snacks. Ever since then, she would save me one. She also loved her family very much. Everytime we got to sit down for lunch together (which was rare because she is always working so hard), she would tell me about her kids. Theresa, know that you were and still are a big part of not only the nurse I am today but the person I am today as well. I will strive everyday to be at least have of the woman, mother, and human you were through selflessness, compassion, knowledge, and all of the wonderful qualities you possessed. I love you Mama Theresa.
Professor Chang was an amazing teacher, nurse and person. I’m so grateful to have learned from her. I’m so very sorry to see this news and wishing comfort and peace to all the family. ❤️
A memorable instructor and mentor! She will be missed.
It’s hard to say goodbye to someone who has touched so many lives.  Theresa made a significant impact on those around her. She will be sorely missed by her Saint Luke’s family. Our deepest condolences to her family.

She was smart and so kind. Deepest condolences to her family and loved ones as she was truly phenomenal
Professor Chang was such a phenomenal professor. Whether providing care for a patient with a chest tube, or initiating a blood transfusion, I hear the points she emphasized every time. My heart goes out to those closest to her. May you all find peace and solace in your memories of her. She will truly be missed.
Im sorry for your lost. Professor Chang was such a role model for me when I was in nursing school. She was one of my favorite professors and I will forever miss her. My condolences.
Theresa was one of the very first faculty I ever worked with as a nursing instructor. She was wonderful and I have great respect for her. She will be so missed.

Theresa touched her students with great entertaining empowering stories. She brought me to the next level as a nursing student and encouraged me to follow my passion of working with children. The nursing education world will not be the same without her. I am sure all of her patients feel the same way.
To say I strive to be Theresa Chang, would be an understatement. She was such a powerful source of knowledge and showed me exactly what kind of nurse/person I wanted to be.  The world is definitely a little darker, and I appreciate the small amount of time I got to spend learning and laughing with her!
Theresa was my faculty as a student at Research College of Nursing. As a student in her clinical group, she ensured we had as many experiences as possible and thought critically about all aspects of patient care. When I became a faculty member, her dedication to students was even more apparent. Her legacy in nursing is vast as a nurse caring for patients for decades. Even more, the thousands of nursing students she taught are positively impacting the health of countless numbers of patients and families. She was an amazing nurse, educator, and human. I have been truly blessed to have known Theresa and will miss her very much.
She was such an amazing person! A great nurse instructor, and motivated me to keep going! She will be truly be missed 🙏🏾
Theresa was one of my clinical instructors at RCON and she was definitely the most influential instructor I had. She was an incredible instructor and nurse and I learned more from her than I did from almost the rest of my nursing school altogether. Her memory will live on in every nurse’s work that learned from her.
