THEODORE's obituary
Fondly referred to as Uncle Thedo, Theodore was born to Alice Jackson (Gulley) and Theodus Thomas, and took his first breath on January 20, 1941; although little is known about his biological father, it was reported he met him years later and that he was very interactive with his paternal side of the family in his younger years. Theodore was the 2nd youngest of 4 siblings; Crezelle Fike (McConnico), Alvin Hodges, and Peggy Jean Blount; all of which preceded him in death. From the start, young Theodore was a force to be reckoned with. Theodore attended Jefferson County Schools in Birmingham, Alabama throughout his primary and secondary matriculating years and attended Woodlawn High School. From earlier years to old age Theodore was an avid baseball card collector and sports fan; never missing the news or sports cast. Upon adulthood in order to embark on new opportunities Theodore left Birmingham and voyaged up North to the Motor City a.k.a Detroit, Michigan. Where he became gainfully employed with General Motors and a proud member of the United Auto Workers (Local Union #235) & American Axel for over 30years.
Although Theodore was never married, he lived a full and vibrant life with more than enough nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and friends than you could count. His family and friends meant the world to him, so although he didn't have his own family, he was literally everybody's family. If you asked him for help, Uncle Thedo would help. He was dearly loved by his friends, and he enjoyed traveling to his class reunions. To think of it, Uncle Thedo loved traveling in general. If there was something going on, you could count on him attending.
Although Theodore never specified a designated church family, he was a devoted spiritual man. You couldn't have a conversation with him without including God, always quick to end a conversation with "I'll pray for you". We ALL will miss him dearly.
