Thad's obituary
Thad Daniel Roach, Sr., of Houston TX., died unexpectedly on July 23, 2022. He was only 73 years old. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by his sudden death. Thad was born on April 2, 1949, attended Robert E. Lee High School and Stephen F. Austin State University, and lived in Houston his whole life.
Thad was a 3rd generation family business owner – he was co-owner and operator of Jack Roach Ford and Roach Kubota in Houston for over 41 years with his brother, Jack Roach, III. Both businesses were Thad's pride, joy, and life's work. He poured his heart and soul into the businesses which showed to all customers and patrons.
In addition to owning both businesses, Thad was a member of Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church. He spent much of his free time woodworking and doing projects with his hands for his family, friends, and church. Thad’s love for the outdoors was immense. He enjoyed spending time at the ranch with family and friends, hunting and fishing, and teaching his children and grandchildren everything he knew about the outdoors. Thad strongly believed that ranch time was the best time, and that tradition should be passed down from generation to generation as it had been done to him. He was also an avid cook who loved making delicious dishes.
Everyone who knew Thad, knew how he could light up a room. He was full of passion and drive, traits that were obvious to all after even just a single meeting with Thad. Thad is survived by Sally Roach (wife), Thad Roach, Jr (son), Kira Roach (daughter-in-law), Hayley Leichtenberg (daughter), Scott Leichtenberg (son-in-law), Emma Roach (granddaughter), Thad Roach, III (grandson), Lucy Leichtenberg (granddaughter), Libby Leichtenberg (granddaughter) and an abundance of friends. We will miss him more than words can say.
Contributions in memory of Thad Daniel Roach, Senior can be made to Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church.
