I can't describe the sadness I felt upon learning of Terry's passing. I met him under the strangest of circumstances, but we quickly became "old house" brothers. He asked me to inspect his historic house in Aurora before he bought it, and the stories he shared with me afterwards over dinner made me one of his greatest fans. I made it a point to visit him there and in Naperville when I still lived in the Chicago area, and those visits would always be the highlights of my year. This man had a light in him, and it was a bright light. I am truly sad I will never share a laugh with him again, but it would be sadder to have never known him at all. My condolences to all who loved him.

The impact that Coach had on my life is immeasurable. Coach took my God given talent and turned it into an “All American, First Round Pick, and “ Mr Baseball” my senior year. He taught life lessons as well. He and I continued a close relationship over the years. I would take my kids by his home 3 to 4 times a year just to sit and talk , or feed the fish. Unfortunately, with COVID last year I wasn’t able to see him. I can still hear his voice saying,” hey Rob”!

I am so sorry to hear that Terry passed away I am Gail Anderson his Secretary in the Athletic Dept from 1976 till I retired from the department in 1991 to move to Proviso West Night school Dept till Dec 1993 retired . He was a great Coach and Friend . My deepest sympathy to his family! He loved Baseball for sure!

For me it was From 1973 - 76. Baseball was his passion but he was also a great wrestling coach for me. Very big on respect and discipline which all of our coaches were. I remember in drivers Ed class I tried to comb my hair in the car and he wasn’t Havin’ it! 😎He coached and taught us well.❤️

Terry was the prototypical p.e. teacher. Demanding, energetic, funny, and leading by example. I think that he even wore the gym uniform. As a young beginning teacher I respected both his words of advice and his style of instruction. Even during difficult situations he would maintain his sense of humor. I always appreciated our interactions. After he retired from Proviso, I would bump into him because he loved tooling through the Hinsdale area as a private driving instructor. RIP to a model teacher/coach and a larger than life human being.
