Tony's obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Terry "Tony" Marlow announces his passing on April 24, 2023. Tony was born on November 6, 1952, in Fonde, KY, and was known for his tenacious, kind-hearted, opinionated, and sacrificial spirit. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Emma Marlow, and their children: son Anthony "Scott" Marlow; daughter Natalie Danielle Howerton; daughter-in-law Sarah Marlow; son-in-law Jonathan Howerton, grandsons Jaron Marlow, Ryan Marlow, Noah Howerton, and Canon Howerton, brothers Ralph Marlow and David Marlow, sisters Gale Creekmore, Deborah McGinnis, and Darlene White.

He was preceded in death by his mother Ligia “Liza” Mae Kitts, his father Ralph D. Marlow, his brothers Larry Marlow and Stanley Marlow, and sisters Elizabeth Ann Smith and Elaine Davis.

Tony's greatest joys in life were his family and his love for Emma's cooking. He found solace and wisdom in his favorite book, The Bible. Tony was an avid fan of Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR) and Allison Kraus, as well as Westerns and boxing matches on television. Tony had the ability to build anything he wanted and could solve any problem that he faced.

A jack of all trades, Tony enjoyed restoring muscle cars, caring for exotic birds, and fishing. He owned and operated Silkscreen Specialists for 35 years, restored numerous antique cars, and built a home with his son, Scott. His strong work ethic and determination to provide for his family will be remembered as an important part of his legacy. He had a strong heart and a strong mind.

Tony's life was characterized by his resilience, generous spirit, and desire to instill those qualities in his children. The stories of his childhood and time spent with his family will be cherished forever. Tony Marlow was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and his presence will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. These words cannot do his character or the love that we have for him justice.

A small, private graveside ceremony will be held on Friday, April 28th to lay his body to rest in Kingston Springs. His wishes were to have close family by his side.

In lieu of flowers, those that wish to offer condolences can send them to the family’s home or make a donation to cancer research.
