I was just thinking about Terry tonight, and looked him up. I’m so sorry to hear he’s passed. I loved the obit, and though I didn’t know him personally, his story makes sense. He was my customer when he worked at Sprint. To be honest, he was my favorite, and the most capable customer I had. What a joy it was to work with him. God bless Terry and his friends and family.

Terry worked in our Communications Engineering department at ATCO Gas - right out of university I believe - he was gracious, super fun loving a people person, & one of the brightest engineers I have ever had the pleasure to work with. I just found out today in 2023 about his untimely passing - I just happened to Google him because I often wondered how he was doing. Sincere condolences - I shed a tear for Terry tonight.

Bobbi and family - I regularly think of Terry, especially when I’m discussing travel to western Canada or reflecting on our extraordinary group at Sprint San Diego in the early 2000’s. I loved Terry, as a friend, coworker and a man of exceptional intellect. His memory lives on.

Being both from Canada Terry and I would reminisce often about very Canadian things. One workout we got very deep into the importance of “The Tragically Hip” and how they were the soundtrack to many a night at the bar. I decided to put on some “Hip” as workout music to show our American friend Eric what we were talking about. Terry and I were grooving away to song after song oblivious that it’s not really “workout music” and Eric had to break us from our revery with an “Ahem…” still gonna think of Terry anytime I hear “50 Mission Cap”

The lighting workout

Terry was a determined workout partner. Through the years he has always been the stalwart attendee to our bootcamps. Rain or Shine he would hike the hill by his house to the park and sometimes would be the only attendee. On one workout it was pouring by the start of class and Terry was undeterred. He and I continued our workout together. Within about 15 minutes the winds picked up and the rain began to come in sideways under our shelter at the park. And still we kept going. Soon the clouds started to get darker and more forbidding and thunder began to rumble. Still Terry was up for whatever was next in the workout. It was only when a giant bolt of lightning came down in the field next to us they Terry finally said in his Terry way. “Ok......I think that’s a sign we should stop.”

He was drenched to the bone and covered in grit. Yet still stuck around to help me repack equipment to leave. And just like Terry he would have happily trecked back down the hill in the rain if I hadn’t insisted he get in the car and let me drive him. I will miss seeing him pop around the corner in his neon shirt and themed socks. Water bottle in hand ready to go. Love you Terry.
