Terry's obituary
Terry Eugene Holmes, passed away peacefully surrounded by love on May 16, 2024, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Born on January 29, 1952, in Huntington, Indiana, to Emma R. Holmes & Russell Holmes.
Terry graduated from South Bend Clay High School in 1971. Following graduation, he completed an apprenticeship and became a proficient Tool and Die maker, a title he carried with pride throughout his 30 years at Zimmer.
His colleagues fondly remember the precision and care he put into his work, with his renowned "Homer's Machine" standing as a legacy of his craftsmanship.
Beyond his professional achievements, Terry was a man of diverse interests. He had a lifelong affection for car shows and collectable toy shows, building an impressive collection over the years. Terry was also an avid reader, a golfer, and a camper, finding joy and relaxation in these pursuits.
His love for life was most evident when he was surrounded by friends and family, with whom he shared countless cherished moments.
Terry was known for his loving nature and his handy skills, which he generously shared with those around him. His ability to fix and create was matched only by his capacity to love and support his family and friends.
Terry's life was enriched by his loving and devoted wife of 21 years, Christine Holmes, who survives.
His stepsons, Kip (Regina) Hale and Jason (Angela) Hale. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Austin (Tyler) Hale, Braxton (Kourtney) Hale, and Addison Hale, and his great-grandchildren, Lily Ann, Renee, Reegen, and Lennon.
Terry is survived by several siblings, PJ Holmes, Connie (Luke) Miller, Jessie (Troy) Aker, John (Peggy) Holmes, Rocky Holmes, Jana Garry, Nick (Ron) Foreman, and Tony Foreman, remember him with love and affection.
His cousin and brother at heart, Jerry (Debbie) Hutchings, will miss the deep bond they shared.
Terry was a loving uncle to many, particularly Kristy Holland and Stephanie Ebright, who will forever hold dear the moments they spent together.
Terry formed covenant friendships with Eugene Meade, Rick Nelson, Dave Holbrook, and Rob Engle. Together, this group of men weathered life's challenges for over 50 years, embodying the true spirit of brotherhood.
Terry was also blessed with many brothers and sisters-in-law that he would love to honor. Emogene Kidwell, Josephine Wilson, Roger Perkins, Ronnie Perkins, Terry Coldiron, Vickie Foreman, and the late Randy Coldiron.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings, Rosalee Riddle, Beverly Pulsipher, Kenny Foreman, and Russell Formen.
As we say farewell to Terry Eugene Holmes, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and the countless memories he has given us. His spirit, characterized by warmth and laughter, will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him. His legacy will live on through the love he shared and the lives he enriched.
Terry will be deeply missed, yet his spirit will continue to inspire us all.
A celebration of life service will be held at Fireman’s Building, 1013 Arthur Street in Warsaw, Indiana, on Monday, June 17, 2024. Fellowship will be from 10:00-12:00 EST, and the service will be from 12:00-1:00 pm EST. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw, Indiana.
