Terry’s journey began on April 7, 1962. Terry was born in Tucson, Arizona to Jeanetta Dodd and Terry C. Dodd. Terry grew up with his siblings Floyd Hall, Mary Hall and Rev. Arlene Hall. Terry had great love for his parents and siblings and they loved him right back with overwhelming love.

Terry graduated from Pueblo High School in 1980. While attending Pueblo, Terry was part of the baseball and football teams. Terry joined the military branch of the Air Force in February of 1981 and served through September of 1984.

Terry married Julia Burton and from that union Terry fathered April Dodd and Anthony Dodd. In September of 1986 Terry married Yvette Valdez and from that union Terry fathered Brian Longmire, Brittany Dodd, Bianca Dodd, Rachael Dodd and Marrissa Valdez-Dodd. He loved his children unconditionally.

Terry worked for Home Depot as a Sales Associate for 24 years. When returning from Atlanta, Georgia, Terry rejoined Grace Temple Missionary Baptist Church in 2001. While at Grace Temple God called Terry to the ministry and Terry was ordained as a Minister of God by Pastor D. Grady Scott.

During his membership at Grace Temple, Terry served for many years as the President of Christian Education for the Southern District Association, President of Evangelism for the Southern District Association, Youth Minister for Grace Temple, and participated in Men’s Ministry. Terry even had a short stint in the Choir and if he were here to tell it, he could, without a doubt, “sang.” Terry’s love was sitting at the feet of Jesus through studying God’s word which was his PASSION.

Terry also loved people and he spent most of his extra time either caring for them, praying for them or talking to and encouraging them. As Youth Minister, his love of children was reflected in his dedication to their learning about God.

Preceded in death is Terry’s beloved father, Terry C. Dodd. Continuing to live this earthly life and love Terry are Mother, Jeanetta Dodd; Wife, Yvette Valdez-Dodd; Siblings Floyd Hall, Mary Hall, Rev. Arlene Hall; Children: April Torrestorija (Abraham), Anthony Dodd (Katie), Brian Longmire (Shannon), Brittany Dodd, Bianca Dodd, Rachael Dodd, Marrissa Valdez-Dodd; a host of grandchildren, family and friends.
