Terence's obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mr. Terence Sturmey, who left this world on January 27, 2026. Born on July 18, 1948, in Wolverhampton, England, Terence lived a fulfilling life marked with unwavering commitment to his family, hobbies, and the communities he embraced.

Terence was predeceased by parents, William Sturmey and  Gladys Sturmey. He is survived by his wife, the pillar of his life, Irene Sturmey. The legacy of his kind spirit will continue to live on in their daughters, Juliet Kennedy and Catherine Huie. His playful nature and wealth of wisdom will be fondly remembered by his granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Alyssa Huie and Great Granddaughter Xyla-Rae Huie.

In November of 1974, Terence moved to Millbrae, CA with his wife Irene and daughter Juliet.  In January 2005, Terence and Irene relocated to Oroville, CA.  A man of diverse interests, Terence was a dedicated attendee at the Oroville Amateur Radio Society. His voice, once a familiar echo in the radio frequencies, will be dearly missed by his fellow enthusiasts. Away from the radio frequencies, Terence found solace in the world of books. His love for reading was only rivaled by his passion for playing the guitar and singing, which brought joy to everyone around him.

One of his great pleasures in life was enjoying a good British cup of tea. He appreciated these moments of quiet reflection and often used them to dream up new melodies or delve into the depths of his latest reading material. A lover of nature, Terence found solitude in their quiet property and enjoyed feeding the hummingbirds and wild rabbits while lovingly playing with their dogs.

We invite those who knew Terence to join us in remembering a loving husband, a devoted father, a proud grandfather,  great grandfather and a kind friend. His love for life, family, and community will forever be etched in our hearts.
