Terence's obituary
Terence Eugene Peterson, Alexandria, VA age 62, was born on October 31, 1962, in East Chicago, Indiana. He was the fourth child born to Austin Sr. and Norma Peterson. Terence accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Antioch Baptist Church in East Chicago, Indiana. He had a strong and abiding faith in God. Terence has always excelled academically. He graduated from Gary West High School in 1981 with honors. He was known for being a member of the boys track team and boys drill team through the JROTC program at the school. Upon graduation, received an appointment to the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York where he received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. He served his country faithfully for 20 years and retired with the rank of Major in the United States Army. Terence later earned a Master of Arts degree in Mathematics from the University of Washington. In 2009, his love of numbers and strategic planning led him to create the company, Kwedz Research, LLC. This company provided strategic and operational planning, specializing in operations research and modeling and simulation field. In recent years, Terence became interested in continuing his academic pursuits in Christian Education. He was preceded in death by his parents, Austin and Norma Peterson, Sr., grandparents, and two nephews: Richard J. Hayes and Jason D. Hayes. He leaves to cherish his legacy of life and love his loving and devoted wife, Theresa Peterson; three children, Captain Robyn Ashley Peterson, US Army (from a previous marriage), Terence Joseph Peterson and Taylor Grace Peterson; one brother, Elder Austin Jr. (Jennifer) Peterson of Phenix City, Alabama; three sisters, Dr. Linda L. Peterson, Sandra Peterson of Gary, Indiana and Rev. Michelle Peterson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; one aunt, Rose White of Gary, Indiana; one uncle, Amos (Ann) Peterson, Jr. of Warrior Stand, Alabama; Godmother, Ren Gates of Gary, Indiana; one grandson, Jaxon Maverick Johnson; three nieces, Danielle Robinson, Alexis Peterson and Alexandria Peterson; three nephews, JeBryan Robinson, Thaddeus Jackson, and Josiah Jackson; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
