Tennille's obituary
Tennille was born in February 1977 in Columbia, MO to Donald and Teresa (Hellermann) Ring. Raised in Villard and Glenwood, MN; she graduated from Minnewaska Area High School (class of 1995) and then moved to WIllmar, MN where she met Aaron Grossman while attending Willmar Community College. Tennille and Aaron wed in August 2000 and during their lives together, were residents of MN, AL, VT, IA, LA and most recently Billings MT where they became Foster Parents and adopted both of their sons: Detrick and Evan.
Ever the champion for the underdog, her career path reflected this as she worked with at-risk youth and adults immediately out of high school. With her college focus on Early Childhood Development, Tennille worked with children in multiple settings including helping her preschool students in the New Orleans area recover from the devastation in the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Wilma in 2005. In April 2006, they relocated to Billings, Montana where she completed her Associates degree and became a teacher at, and ultimately promoted to Director of Operations for, Young Families Early Head Start where she put her passion and skills to use caring for the infant to 3 year old children of the program participants and helping those teen parents to complete their high school education while developing parenting and life skills. During her tenure, the program maintained a near 98% graduation rate.
Preceded in death by her father, Don; Tennille is survived by husband Aaron, sons Detrick and Evan, mother Teresa and step father John, sisters Melissa and Tami, brothers Aaron, Jake and Todd as well as countless extended family and friends.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, no service is currently scheduled. A celebration of life ceremony will be announced once restrictions allow a proper gathering of friends. Services in Billings, MT will be conducted through Heights Family Funeral Home (http://www.heightsfamilyfuner…) and in Sauk Centre, MN through Patton Schad (https://www.pattonschad.com/l…) with interment to follow.
