We are saddened to announce the passing of Ted Valentine. Ted was born on July 7, 1955, in Midland, Michigan and graduated from Bullock Creek High School, he resided in Dover, Delaware. Ted passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026.

Ted is survived by his four children - Jared Holsworth (Amanda), Jeremy Holsworth (Becky), Jillian Smith (Daniel), and Bret Valentine (Kayla). He was also a proud grandparent to seven grandchildren Keegan, Logan, Isabella, Gabriel, Aaron, Jared, and Elizabeth. Sister Joan Grice.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Eva Ruth Valentine. A sister Karin Bigelow. Brother in law Vern Grice. Beloved dog Luna.

Throughout his life, Ted worked as a self-employed individual at his auto shop, where he did late model body work and worked on cars. He poured his heart and soul into his work. But to Ted, his greatest accomplishment was his children.

Ted had a variety of hobbies that brought him joy, including fishing, hunting, gardening, and watching NASCAR, baseball, and football. He even raced a drag car at one time. Ted enjoyed a small hobby farm where he cared for pigs, cows,chickens, a goat and at one point a horse. He enjoyed keeping his pond clean and well stocked with the fish he cared for. He was always happiest when he was spending time outdoors or cheering on his favorite sports teams. Ted also enjoyed metal detecting. 

Though Ted may no longer be with us, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His kindness, generosity, and zest for life will never be forgotten.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m  on March 7,2026, at Meridian Church of God 2130 Meridian Rd. Sanford Michigan, 48657 with a luncheon to follow.
